Pat relocated from Philadelphia, PA to South Florida after making the decision he needed a drastic life change. During that time in his life, Pat was in active drug addiction. This was the best decision he could have ever made, and he now celebrates a healthy life in recovery! As Daylight Recovery Center’s Executive Chef, he has fulfilled his dreams of developing a career in the culinary industry, while helping those struggling with the same disease he personally conquered. Pat holds a degree in Culinary Arts from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. In addition, he has earned the following certifications: Managerial Sanitation through the Florida Health Department, CPR, HIPAA and First Aid. When asked what the most rewarding part of his role at Daylight Recovery Center is, “Watching people fatten up! I can expose my craft to recovering addicts with great food, in addition to teaching simple cooking techniques to help with transitioning into society. I love being able to interact with patients and hopefully do or say something that could help someone stay clean.” Pat’s work life has taught him to, “Always remain teachable because there is always something new to learn. Teamwork is key, and lastly, mistakes happen and we need to continue to roll with the punches and not let that stop us from moving forward.” Pat enjoys watching movies, getting together with friends, reading, going to the beach and board games. Game nights are his absolute favorite!
